Memorial Day
Thank God for the men and women who sacrifice their lives for us! Personal feelings set aside... we must all be proud of them! Remarkable and courageous human beings!
This morning I woke up not feeling totally rested and found myself wanting to complain about the old lumpy mattress and the kids being restless all night... WHAT! We are so lucky... I am so lucky... sleeping in a warm, soft bed... ABLE to hear the kids wake in the other room. Little things.... small moments... that can be taken for granted... that are REALLY blessings!
Thank you Lizzie Palmer for this awesome remembrance!
If you have not yet seen her video creation... sit back ... click here... take a minute to honor those representing us!

starfish
Do you recall the "starfish thrower story"?
There was a man who was walking along a sandy beach where thousands of starfish had been washed up on the shore. He noticed a boy picking the
starfish one by one and throwing them back into the ocean. The man observed
the boy for a few minutes and then asked what he was doing. The boy replied
that he was returning the starfish to the sea, otherwise they would die.
The man asked how saving a few, when so many were doomed, would make any
difference whatsoever? The boy picked up a starfish and threw it back into
the ocean and said "Made a difference to that one..."
The man left the boy and went home, deep in thought of what the boy had
said. He soon returned to the beach and spent the rest of the day helping
the boy throw starfish in to the sea....

I love this story! You can really "get" alot from the it! Today... I just was thinking of the fact that we are ALL sooooo unique and special. No two of us are alike! I love it! NOW... sometimes I find myself WANTING to "look" like somebody else or maybe be as talented as somebody else or maybe accomplish as much as somebody else... but we ALL have something to offer! Really! That smile that you wore at Target yesterday certainly made someone else smile! That call that you made just to say "I love you"! The extra time you spent with a friend when they needed to talk! A hug! A donation! Your time! We all can make a difference... in our own way... even with the smallest gesture.
