Looking through my "daydreams" folder last night... which I often to do... I came across SOME of my favorite inspirational interiors! They speak to my soul! I love them all for their neutral/simple feel with added pops and punches of color! LOVE!!! Love color! Red... pea green, crisp blue, delightful orange and yummy chocolate brown!

I get a million gazillion magazines in the mail (my favorite school fundraiser)... when I see something that speaks to me... I yank it out and put it in my "daydreams" folder! A gal can dream... MUST dream and keep her desires alive!

sunday smiles

Picking flowers... rides on the teeter totter... dressing up like a princess... all for some afternoon smiles!

Tonight it's early to bed & tomorrow it's back to school! School! It will take me a while to wrap my brain around the fact that she is already in kindergarten! Little bit and I will have a full morning out and about. Lunch for a treasured friend's birthday and errands around town.

I am ending the day on a high... thank God! I feel like I've been on a teeter totter lately! Being in limbo with our move and all. I... for the most part... think I am handling it all pretty well... BUT... I have those days/moments where total panic sets in! I feel like I have so much ON HOLD! So much I can not get involved in. So much the girls will miss out on. I truly (even after all more emotional out- bursts) KNOW it IS all in the plan. I know there IS a reason for all this craziness! Right? I know I am NOT the only gal facing these same issues right now. I just have to keep falling back on the fact that I have no idea what is in store and be OKAY knowing that GOD does and he in in control!

mother's day out... in full swing

Little bit was really excited to get back to school today! Other than asking me if I could stay there with her... she was ready to take on the day! Her teachers are super! Of course! We have been truly blessed with some of the BEST teachers!

The day seemed to fly by! I had a long list of "to do's" some of which didn't get done. :) But that's OKAY I "breathed" today! It did feel good... I have to admit... being on MY OWN for a little today! I never knew just how great mother's day out was going to be! By far one of the best decisions we made for the girls! Really GREAT for the them & GREAT for me too!

Since I was working on this gift... I thought it would fit right in with the topic. Community of Faith is a place full of inspiration and overflowing with encouragement. kindergarten!

Big day! Big kindergartener! Hard to believe we are already facing this day! My little chub-a-bub of a roly-poly baby is in elementary school! What!

She returned from school and all she said pretty much was... "that place rocks"! That is really what she said! I think she will go back tomorrow! :) Other than being a bit tired... it was a big hit of a day!

Happy day to all the great new kindergarteners! Yipee!

oh tooth fairy...

Look at me! I lost my first baby tooth!

finally! She wouldn't eat a thing! We begged her to try & wiggle it out before her big day at kindergarten. Then we promised her a honey bun (of all things)..... that pretty much did it. She twisted & wiggled & pulled on that tooth all afternoon until it came out... she was super excited!!! And yes... she remembered the yummy honey bun! Life's little joys!

What does a "summer afternoon" mean or feel like to you....?

This was the question posed over at Studio Friday this week.

Summer afternoon...

It's usually a time when I try to stop what I'm doing and head outside with the kids. This is where you can hear alot of "mom... mom... mom... watch me... watch this"! I sit in one of the rockers and start decompressing from the day. Soak in the fun of the kids and try to let all my worries rock away! Might be a good time for a glass of wine too!

I have always been a sucker for school supplies! I remember vividly shopping for school supplies as a kid! I am sure my moms recalls it very well too... she was great taking us to each & every store until we found JUST the right notebooks, folders and such! The thrill of getting home and unpacking it all... getting it all ready for the big day! Awwwwe! I loved it!

There are sooooo many great paper products out now. Have you taken a stroll down the school supply isle at target? It will make your head spin with glee!

To be a kid again... NO WAY !!!

I love this picture!


I came across it again this morning while doing some photo back-up. It was taken Thanksgiving of 2004. We could not believe that my grandmama... my aunt... and I all had the exact same watch! Really! Now that is great! It was one of Oprah's favorite "picks" that year!
I like to think I have their taste! They are both brilliantly creative and the kind of people you hope to become! I love them to pieces and will always treasure this picture! What fun!
