s t r e t c h

so... what do you do when you have pulled muscles in your back...
find yourself trapped... frustrated... in pain...
why... you go to the gym ANYWAY!
And not only GO to the gym... you do something you didn't EXPECT...
you make a decision to PUSH... put yourself OUT THERE even more!

IMG_2303-1
I think i lost MY MIND on the way there because i agreed to do their
"Know Your Own Strength" 12 week challenge with my trainer!

I thought i was going in for some stretching...
you can say that again...
s t r e t c h i n g...
i have stretched out my foot and tapped it on the OTHER side of the line!

I am ACTUALLY thinking this was a good slip of the tongue though...
"sure... let's do it"
I was JUST thinking about my goals for this year...
getting ready to get SPECIFIC...
put pen to paper...
WELL...
i have my first thing!

I have been working out with a personal trainer for four months now...
what a perfect time to kick it up a notch!
did i just say that?
i HAVE lost my mind!

This is MORE than the scale... SO NOT THE NUMBERS...
this is for ME...
for my INNER stretch...
as CORNY as this sounds...
for my inner WOMAN!

i think we can lose touch with our own "power"... our own "strength"... what lies WITHIN us...
at least i know I can!
I can become "weak"... i mean in an INNER sense!

This is not just physical for me... i PLAN...no... i EXPECT...
my mind... my heart... my confidence... to expand!

i am taking my FIRST leap of the year!
i will be...
going for it...
striving...
pushing...
growing...
preparing my wings for the flight i WANT to be on this year!

I am curious... have you set a goal yet?
Would love to know... that way i can root for both of us!

I have big reach for the stars, make each day count deep deep down to it's core goals. Take a class to knit or sew... challenge myself-no excuses (who will watch the kid, no time etc.) show my kids that Mommy can do more than make a bed without wrinkles!! Be satisfied with the now! Don't be afraid of driving to a different state to visit my sister without my hubby... afraid of getting lost or car braking down. I could go on but your comment section would be overloaded hee hee. Basically I want to have no regrets... I have a motivating factor, in Sept. I turn 40. I want to wake up and be giddy with all that I have accomplished in my 40 years reflect on my journey and be excited for the new adventures besides really good eye cream!!!
I'm rooting for you, stretch for the stars,
xo,
LuLu

I loved reading how you are stretching your mind...becoming a stronger woman...love it! Empowering for sure!

I've got a little goal...one I'm afraid to put out there for fear of failure...but I'm thinking...maybe, just maybe...

I totally "get" that you are doing this for you.

That is exactly what the triathlons and the 1/2 marathon were all about.

ME.

Not losing tons of weight or wanting to wear a bikini (which I haven't done since I was, like 4 years old).

For me...being physically strong spills over into an inner strength.

It's hard to explain to most...but I know you understand.

YOU GO GIRL!

I want to step out the box and push myself a little -- take risks. I got a head start in December on few things that have carried into the first full week of the new year, but basically my goals are to be healthy in both body and mind. Try new things. Don't be afraid to say no. Learn a new skill. Be an entrepreneur.

How am I doing so far? I began doing daily 15 minute meditations and started journaling. Keeping the mind healthy is harder for me than the body. I've been attending Power Yoga classes 2x a week and eating vegetarian for more than two weeks and I already feel so much better. The Yoga counts as a new thing, but want to try so much more. Next week my friend and I have a meeting with an attorney to discuss our partnership agreement for a little business we'd like to start. Very exciting stuff I just need to keep pushing and not lose interest or steam when old habits are easier to fall into than new ones.

so glad to see you made it out of your Uggs, though I don't know that if I had a pair of those, I'd be going out anytime soon!! HaHa. You are truly inspirational - you are right - we need to do this for ourselves. I have not been to the gym for 4 weeks and girl,,,,I am feeling it! Thanks for the right words!

You are awesome! And amen for taking care of you and making you even better! WooHoo!

Working out is my sanity...I mean long-term sanity...it's healthy for my brain, my body, my family, my spirit. I know just what you mean.

So proud of you.
