texas treat

Just a bit from our trip south. Our time was full! Full of family... friends... fun! I just wish I would have captured more with my camera. Like I mentioned yesterday... it is a time in my life that I will always remember CLEARLY. This last month held memories for me that are simply too difficult to convey into words. Moments so raw & so special that I still feel them in my throat. Laughter so deep that my side still hurts! I was reminded yet again what an incredible family & super set of friends we have! We have our nuts (i might be one)... but we sure know how to love & have some good fun!

yippee! we are back in Colorado! back home!
there sure is something... a comfort about being home!

It's been quite a month...

a month that will be etched in my mind forever!

First & foremost...
thank you SO much for all your kind thoughts & prayers...
you're the best! Really... so dear to me... so special!
I carried you & your your love with me everywhere!
I have missed sharing & being in contact with you!
The computer just had to take a seat
on the back burner the last five weeks.
Really looking forward to "reconnecting".

My gran-mama died on June 17th... two weeks as of yesterday.
Still shaking my head
and grabbing at my heart not believing it is real.
Selfishness still lingering... wanting to keep her here with us.
Thoughts of knowing we will see her again one day... brings comfort.

What a FULL life! FULL of zest! FULL of love!
Certainly the most vibrant... colorful... faithful...
proud... confident... woman I have ever known!

She taught me so many things...

to always believe in the power & promise that lies within us

stand tall & face things head on
to always try something once... "why not"
put God first & everything else will fall into place

I will... we all will... miss her terribly!
HER light made US brighter!

Right now... we all know whose she is & where she is...
those gates... they did open WIDE!
We are just human though... we want her with us!

May we now hold on tight to...
the gifts she gave us...
the love she rooted so deeply within us...
the incredible family she made us...

we ARE blessed!

My mother is the most incredible... the most giving woman! She is on a flight right now to get to us girls! Once she gets here we are loading up in my vehicle and headed to Texas! Yup... she did not want us driving by ourselves! THAT is a my mom! It's a quite drive... we will have plenty of time to share... talk... and just BE together.

We are on our way to see my granmama. "I look forward to holding your hand!"

May the wind be behind our backs... may our path be clear & bright... may the kids be charming & content... may the potty stops be limited... may we get there in a flash! Thank you Lord for lighting our path & leading the way!

Well... it wasn't a HUGE weekend... but I think it was just right!

back when it was "in" to wear mid tops... scarf belts and your pants up to your pits! Back when I actually HAD a waist! :)

Back when Astroworld (Six Flags) was still around in Houston. The Texas Cyclone was my favorite ride! Fast... furious... stomach dropping fun! I actually peed my pants one time... was that TMI? My friend Beth Anne & I were laughing so hard... it was inevitable! What did I do? I don't even remember... did I walk around with wet pants? Seriously... that's nuts!

This was when I was either a sophomore or junior in high school because I am wearing all Limited clothes... I remember those clothes well. I worked there during high school... oh... I loved that job... the awesome discount... it was so much fun! Remember when malls were "the place" to shop! Now... at all cost I try to avoid the mall! Funny!

Happy Wednesday! Our day has started out GREAT! It is after 11am and I am happy to say... I am STILL in my jammies! It feels good to not rush... to take the day as it comes! Awe... what a gift! I am feeling lucky & blessed! Now I'm off to go grab another pig in a blanket and another cup of coffee! :)

On landscaping news... our sod is being put down today... which means we are only hours away from walking on some crisp... cool... prickly... green... goodness! What a gift!

The kids are running wild... the popsicle's are flying... the messes are growing by the second! Summer is here! Today is good!

At night Campbell always like to say something sweet to me
before bed. It can be as great & simple as

Last night she says...

So then little bit chimes in & says...
"mama, i will never let my jacket go in the wind"
priceless! too good!

We've been busy... all things landscaping! Remember those big piles of dirt? Well they're gone... we now have a pile of manure! All I can say... thank God for people who know WHAT they're doing... so they can do what they do with all that stuff! :)
It looks like sometime within this week we will have sod! woo hoo! Love me some green grass! Actually BIG things should take place this week... fingers & toes crossed that it all comes together just right! :)


Some new creations for the shop... I hope to get out from under the pile of "to do's" and get them listed tomorrow!

Oh... just realizing my blog anniversary is around the corner... in a week... kind of weird it's already been a year... there is that YEAR again flying by!

Of course I want to do a drawing! I was wondering if I should do... pick any treat from the shop... or I think it might be fun to create a custom piece (similar to something like these) for the winner.
Hmmm... got me thinking... what do you think?
