you're at the dreaded DMV... been there for hours... your little one drops her sucker ON THE DIRTY GROUND... some other people see this happen... there is no where to rinse it off... you do not want to lose your spot in line (good gosh... I did NOT want to lose my spot in line) ... you do NOT have a back up sucker or treat... what would YOU do?

The sad... really bad mommy thing... I DID NOT lick it first... I didn't want to! Oh! That sounds terrible! For some reason this time... I was not licking! :)

The only thing I had in my purse was my checkbook... which I never carry... I only had it because we were going to the DMV... they are not up with the "times" yet... thank goodness... the good 'ol paper checkbook is still good for something!

Remember that mack truck from yesterday... it was a team of mack trucks! I am so serious... somebody do something! :)

I have to say... one thing I am struggling with now living in "the desert" my skin is not dry... it is past that point! My skin is in shock! Going from living in a sauna everyday (Houston) to now living in the Sahara! My skin hurts! I would love some advice from some of you lovely ladies in the area! Help! I am going to turn into a tortilla chip! Do tell! Have any advice? Pleeeeeease! :)

I am faced this morning with a smorgishborg of things to do! You know... Monday! I am ready to get it going just trying to figure out which cup to jump into first? My goal... get my "crispy" hands on some treats for the shop! The shop... oh yes! She is so special to me and she has been neglected! Again... other cups of responsibilities getting in the way! :)

So... here's to today! A day full of cups that are over-flowing with things to get done... oh yes... BuT as I will try to remind myself... these "cups" ARE gifts!

help me... i can't get up...

I feel like I have been run over by a mack truck... and our house looks like that same mack truck drove through it!

We have been working on the house like a couple of crazy people! I think I thought about lunch at 4 pm... bit late... you know when you just get so busy... it skips your mind. That's okay though... we just ate BIG! :) Managed to whip up some sort of chicken spaghetti dish for dinner. It WAS good!

I have done everything today from cleaning out the garage to planting new shrubs... and way too many crazy things in between... for ONE day! Nutty! You know those days! I'm tired with a capital "T"! Cooked... like a broiled tomato! Beat like a big 'ol pot full of mashed potatoes! Done! :)

There were huge coy fish... fat frogs...

The girls & i are stepping out today to spread our wings a bit. We are visiting a butterfly exhibit with Cambell's school! All i know... if ALL we did was ride the school bus around all afternoon... the girls would be all smiles! They can hardly wait! Something about those big yellow bread boxes on wheels makes my girls scream with glee! It should be interesting... to say the least!

So... here's to a day where we open our eyes...
open our arms... open our hearts... and fly a bit!

You know we are finally warming up when the fuzzy little bugs start venturing out from their winter digs! This particular caterpillar was quite the speed racer... you could barely hold on to him.

I have to say I am loving all the great flowers & buds peeking out right now! The superb thing about living somewhere with "true" seasons... outstanding color & vibrancy in the Spring! Almost like they are waking up from a long winter's nap to say "hi"!

A while back on a post I had mentioned my excitement about a new bookcase I had on order! I have been looking for one about six months... when I found this gem.
Well... a big ugh... unfortunately the company I ordered it through phoned the other day... they had to cancel all back orders on this piece! what! I was crushed! The lady that called was SO nice! This was a new item for them and when they arrived they had major quality issues. I felt really bad for them... they are having to call all customers (130+) and tell them the news... what a big loss for them! Get this though... they are sending me a 75 dollar gift card for the inconvenience! How cool is THAT! Things like this happen... not their fault. Frankly I love the fact that they are a great company not willing to sacrifice quality and stand up for great customer satisfaction! I just love them!

The good news... I did find one "somewhat" similar over at Sundance... casters and all! :)

So... here's to a truly terrific Thursday... which reminds me... I completely forgot about way back wednesday yesterday... go figure... I'm a nut that can't keep her days straight!

When my mom was here for a visit recently she picked up these reusable bags for me! Ten for ten dollars at the local grocery store. What a deal! Thanks mom! My two cents...
I LOVE them! They are SO much better than plastic! I keep them in my vehicle so they are always there waiting for me. Why I love them...

they hold a ton (I was shocked the first time i used them)
they are so friendly to our lovely earth
they stand up in your car... no more flying milk!
they are way easier to carry than plastic... handles are nice & thick
you look cute carrying them :)

Here's to doing something to hug our Earth! She is a gift to us... let's show her some love!

NOT wow...

flipping WOW!!!

okay... so when we moved into this house we had to purchase a new fridge. Was not "in the know" about the new fingerprint-proof appliances... so we got stainless! I was seeing stars... there were fingerprints EVERYWHERE! I would consider myself a freak over this! Drives me nuts!

Well... in walked this tall dark handsome canister of WOW! I had tried it all... all the products... techniques... they ALL streaked! Well this handsome fellow is smart! No streaking!

If this is a challenge in your casa too go check out WOW! I am impressed and my appliances look clean! woo hoo!
Again... it's the little things in life! Gotta love this product!

Our Sunday... one of those days where you have one popsicle after another! I was guilty too... they were gooooood!

My hands feel like spaghetti noodles this morning! I actually did some digging yesterday! I thought there was a lot of rock in Texas... pleeeease... for goodness sakes... the western slope is one big rock! Ton 'o rock! Pretty rock atleast!

I think we had forgotten just how much work goes into moving into a "blank slate". The balance of it... knowing this is a temporary home for us... is a bit of a challenge. A fun... yet dad gum expensive challenge! :) We are hoping to have the fence & sprinkler contractors out within the next couple of weeks! Can't wait... then we can get some pretty green! Green grass... fluffy shrubs... yummy lavender... tall trees... yippee!

So... here is Monday... already! Hello! Always such a "catch up" day! Is it for you to? I will be trying to "catch up" on all things housekeeping and scheduling. I've got to get on the horn and follow up with all these contractors that live in their own fantasy world! They live by a different clock all together! Sweet just slow!
Sure would be great to squeeze in some creative time for the shop too. She has practically been abandoned! Poor thing... awe!

So... here's to a day full of lighting some fires... under some butts & in our hearts! :)

he really does love me...

I rolled over and woke up to this! What a glorious morning indeed!

We had a three year old little boy spend the night last night... always interesting to have a BOY around. Boys and girls ARE different! I don't care how you slice it! Anyway at 6AM he woke up! uhh... excuse me... that is a tad early for me on a Saturday morning... well any morning for that matter! Call me "sleep-over" mother of the year... I turned on a cartoon for him... and crawled my behind back in bed!

So I did make them breakfast... sort of... gotta love Schwans breakfast pizzas! Always a hit!

The picture outside the window this morning is a giving me ants in my pants! The sun is shining in her full glory! Time to put on some sort of decent face and head out!

Here's to a... kick up your heels and look really goofy doing it... kind of day! Do it... see if it makes you laugh! :)

Look at my new teeny lulette houses! Are they not SO fun! I got them here... from a great Etsy shop called Noodle and Lou! Her packaging is enough to make you scream with glee. I did! You know when you get something in the mail... it looks so pretty you want it to last... I did that when I got this package! Oogled over it for days... really! She creates pure light-hearted fun! I am looking forward to snagging one of her great paintings too one day! Her blog is super too... for the latest happenings!

Back when scarves and bows were THE thing! My word... do you see the size of that scarf! I was actually picked as best dressed! What were they thinking?

That hair... that perm... oh yeah NOW a bit reminiscent of bozo the clown! The cream tights... I wore tights constantly! Tights... flats... big hair... big bows... big shoulder pads... white socks with black loafers... pleated pants... all rounded out the 80's... I was a graduate of 89.

Friendswood High School... go Mustangs! We had lived in Corpus Christi my entire life... only to move right before freshman year! Crusher! That was difficult! Even as a fairly "with it" adult... well I think I am... I can still admit... that WAS tough! I did make my way though... made some great friends and some silly memories! Oh and maybe I did a few stupid things too... right mom & dad!

My favorite subject in HS was English... loved writing...my most dreaded... could not stand... could not get... History! My brain just can not wrap around all those dates and events. Still can't!

There are those who said they would love to go back to high school... I am not one of those people... no thanks. Too many hormones... too much drama... too much homework! Would you go back (do it over) if you could... the whole high school thing?

p.s. sorry David (the male best dressed)... if by some crazy, far out, nutty, chance you were to see this. He WAS the "hip" guy... always had style.

Our Sunday was full of dirt! We bought dirt... we shoveled dirt... we got dirt under our fingernails...
kids played in the dirt...
we tracked dirt into the house!
You should have seen the bath water... dirt!

Now that the temps are coming above the 30's... it's time to get working on our "blank slate" of a yard! Yippee for Spring!
