that's how i felt yesterday!
SO excited about baking those darn molasses... i mean gingersnap cookies!
When my sister makes them... you (meaning i) just can't eat enough!
WELL... i guess living at 4700 feet does have it's kinks!
The cookies were a COMPLETE disaster!
not even sort of... really BAD!
I tried over & over again trying to get the mix... oven temp... time... right...
no such luck for this "NOT BAKER"!
I had already made enough batter for about 20 dozen cookies!
DOWN THE SINK!
my lid was about to flip AGAIN!
the house sure smelled good BUT i needed those cookies!
After breathing... calling my mama... i decide to head out... see what i could find!
Funny how you can get SO into something... it SEEMS more important than it really IS!
So instead of cookies... it's Hershey's Hugs cocoa to accompany gifts!
Last night after all the cookie chaos...
i lit some of our smokers...
addressed Christmas cards...
and did some more wrapping!
Here we are...
it's the last Friday before Christmas!
There are still many things (okay... a ton) that need get done...
but as the day gets closer...
and it CAN seem to get even MORE chaotic...
i decided to add mini marshmallows to my coffee this morning...
OH YES I DID...
it will help me remember...
HAVE SOME FUN...
ENJOY...
this is a VERY special time of year!
oh... the LITTLE things... may we be able to SEE them...
and stop for a second to really FEEL their goodness too!

first i was like...what the heck is a smoker? but those are SO cute....you are just too fabulous for words....and those gift tags?! seriously?! it's a good thing i love you or i might hate you. :) have a GREAT day today.
you always help me smile....
I am making sugar cookies today.
And smiling at the thought of the smell of the dough...the lemon extract my mom and my grandma used and how without lemon extract, they aren't really sugar cookies to me.
And I'm going to just enjoy it regardless of the chaos that is around the corner...
you blessed me today.
well, it was TOTALLY not you! it's the altitude...i am still dying to try the recipe...in the new year:)

Oh...your smoker collection needs to get together with my nutcrackers! I LOVE them. And it reminds me that I have one somewhere and I don't know where it is. I got him in Germany! Maybe he will send me a smoke signal :) Sorry, that was a terrible joke but I couldn't resist.
Note to self- marshmallows in coffee!
These are such gorgeous pictures, almost puts me back in the season.

I'm sorry to hear; that is just one of the things we will have to get used to when we move to Colorado; oven temps when your cooking at high altitudes...when I read this on the recipes; I didn't know you followed these directions if you were at high altitudes I thought the oven was special and it was called a high altitude oven...just call me a blonde!
I wish you a Merry Christmas!
Ugh... thats no fun at all!! I feel for you... day 10 in bed still and so much too. But, then its the little an amazing things that count!
Love you tons... Toasting you a cup of coffee... love the marshmallow idea!

Those are the sweeties labels with Campbells picture on them...
Those tags with Campbell were awesome.
Happy Weekend to you. We are finally all better in our parts. hahaha
I love the gift. :) But I'm sorry your cookies didn't work out. :(
How cute are those smokers! I love 'em. I am a NON baker as well and would have been trying to strangle myself with the molasses. (now wouldn't that be a trick!) Look how cute the gifts turned out anyways though:):)
Merry Christmas Carissa!!!!
