way back... wednesday

Back when scarves and bows were THE thing! My word... do you see the size of that scarf! I was actually picked as best dressed! What were they thinking?

That hair... that perm... oh yeah NOW a bit reminiscent of bozo the clown! The cream tights... I wore tights constantly! Tights... flats... big hair... big bows... big shoulder pads... white socks with black loafers... pleated pants... all rounded out the 80's... I was a graduate of 89.

Friendswood High School... go Mustangs! We had lived in Corpus Christi my entire life... only to move right before freshman year! Crusher! That was difficult! Even as a fairly "with it" adult... well I think I am... I can still admit... that WAS tough! I did make my way though... made some great friends and some silly memories! Oh and maybe I did a few stupid things too... right mom & dad!

My favorite subject in HS was English... loved writing...my most dreaded... could not stand... could not get... History! My brain just can not wrap around all those dates and events. Still can't!

There are those who said they would love to go back to high school... I am not one of those people... no thanks. Too many hormones... too much drama... too much homework! Would you go back (do it over) if you could... the whole high school thing?

p.s. sorry David (the male best dressed)... if by some crazy, far out, nutty, chance you were to see this. He WAS the "hip" guy... always had style.

Too funny, I graduated in '88, and foundly remember tights and loafers. I still get memory rushes from the songs.... funny how all of that is coming back. There is a college aide in my sons preschool and she is dressed head to toe in '80's clothes! Too funny, and I am with you.... I would not want to go back .

I'm so thankful high school is over! I never want to go back. It wasn't all bad, but it wasn't the best time of my life either.

You were too dang cute then too! I didn't like trying to remember dates either. I liked learning history, but dates just throw me for a loop...

You are such a dear friend! Thanks for everything, I so mean it!

Big ol' jar of love headed your way!

I recently reconnected with some of my high school friends. THAT was fun, but I wouldn't want to go back to that AGE for all the tea in China! Love your picture - you look just like Elizabeth Shue in Adventures in Babysitting... http://youtube.com/watch?v=Nly-bfguf4k!!

You were a-dorable!!! No - I would not want to go back and do HS over again. I was not good at History either - still not good at helping my kids with their History.

Have a good day - Kellan

I'm a 1989 grad too. Would I go back? -- only if I had the life knowledge that I have now and there would have to be some promise that I wouldn't have to take any math classes. If I could do HS over again I definitely would have studied more; got involved in what I wanted instead of what the crowd dictated; would include some people that didn't deserve to be excluded and would definitely do without the drama.

Yes, it was a Walk to Emmaus I was on this weekend. Yes, there is one in July that I would LOVE to sponsor you for.

How cool would that be to tell people we met via BLOGLAND?!

The internet can be used for good ater all...

Not in a million years. I like this time and this place I am in too much. That photo is so much fun. Does it ever take me back. Like you, I wore lots of tights and long white shirts and the perennial flat. I adored the shoulder pad look then. The bigger the better. I wonder how that is even possible to conceive of now. Great way back Wednesday.
