you're at the dreaded DMV... been there for hours... your little one drops her sucker ON THE DIRTY GROUND... some other people see this happen... there is no where to rinse it off... you do not want to lose your spot in line (good gosh... I did NOT want to lose my spot in line) ... you do NOT have a back up sucker or treat... what would YOU do?
really...
Yall are cracking me up with your answers!
You're so right I gave that thing right back to her! :)
The sad... really bad mommy thing... I DID NOT lick it first... I didn't want to! Oh! That sounds terrible! For some reason this time... I was not licking! :)
The only thing I had in my purse was my checkbook... which I never carry... I only had it because we were going to the DMV... they are not up with the "times" yet... thank goodness... the good 'ol paper checkbook is still good for something!
LOL to all you gals! :)

Cry!!!! I would most definately cry out of frustration. :) Actually my child would probably think it was dirty and willingly throw it away. However, if my child still wanted it, I would act like a didn't see and let them pick it up and eat it anyway praying that God protect them from all the germs they are about to ingest. As bad as that sounds they get all those nasty germs in their mouths anyway from all the things they do that we don't see. (In case you are confused about who this crazy comment is from....I am Bruce's little sister the one that bought the necklace from you. I just love reading you blog. Holley and I enjoy reading it and then talking about it the next day. We think you are so creative and fabulous)
I would lick all the dirt off and hand it right on back to her. I'm kinda kidding... I think I would let her decide what she wanted - dirty or nothing. I saw on the Today show that eating off the floor every now and then is actually good for us because we get exposed to germs.
I would do the same thing you did- take a picture for the blog :)
Have you heard of the 5 second rule! LOL... Great talking to you today.
gal pal~ Lanny.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. I would have stuck it in my mouth, then given it back to her. Eeew.
I can not tell you how many times this has happend. I would and have picked it up , wiped it on anything handy ( my shirt if necessary... or theirs god knows what else ends up on it!). Bribery has also come in handy in these situations.
Oh, no...what to do....o.k. I would have wiped on my shirt, but I really would have wanted to lick it, but remember I have boyz and they can not stand to get lip stick on anything,, even if I don't have any on they still think it is there....
So, lick away....
I'm so with hip momma.
I'd have to side with the 5 second rule too..Just have to double check for hairs and fuzzies...ick!
5 second rule!
I would have gotten out of line, cried 'cause I had to get out of line, get back in the car, cried 'cause I had to get back in the car, drive home and cry all the way. And then go back on another day, and don't EVER EVER EVER bring the kids to DMV! EVER! Wait....this happened to me.....
Girlfriend~ I know you di-n't whip out your camera in front of all those people (waiting to watch what you were gonna do) and take a picture for your blog. If you did, that cracks me up, cause I would've done the same thing. You may have "re-enacted" the Kodak moment later. That's always an idea too. Kinda reminds me of when my boys busted me taking a blog picture of the old athletic supporter. Hee Hee FYI... I would've blown "Whhhh" on the sucker first, to get all the germies off, then would've handed back to Riley reassuring her, "Mommy blew all the germs off!" :) ~Jill
I'd look around me and make sure nobody was looking.. then suck the germs off and pop it back in my kids mouth. Ewwwww.. but desperate times take desperate measure!!
My goodness...that was funny! I had to giggle...I would have given the sucker to my daughter...here you go...no sense standing in line with a screaming child...especially at the DMV!
Great post!
With my oldest I would have thrown it away -- oh who am I kidding he never would have had a sucker to begin with. Now with my third, I'd pick it right off the floor and shove it back in her mouth. I've decided that kids put their hands in their mouths all the time which is totally disgusting -- heaven knows where those hands have been, so a little dirt off the ground won't hurt them.
you're so funny.
sawyer dropped his binky at the park yesterday. . .actually mommy dropped it..i slurped it off with spit and stuck it right back in his mouth...
